I'm nonplussed. Blogburst hasn't done anything for my work - probably because a lot of what I write isn't "family friendly". There are better ways to promote your content, IMO.

We recently updated our plans for international blogger rewards. You can read about it here: http://www.burstblog.com/2006/11/09/internation... Bottom line is that non-US bloggers are eligible for the Q4 Rewards Program, just a matter of working through the logistics on making those payments.

First of all, congratulations on the speed of your updates. I was going to alert you to BlogBurst's rewards scheme earlier this week but found you had not only reported it but also were carrying my comment to them that I felt "led up the garden path".
It is interesting to see how swiftly BlogBurst has backtracked on the non-US thing. But wasn't it obvious that their "difficulties" with the tax business did not have to mean that compensation for international bloggers need not be counted?
I still feel somewhat underwhelmed by the reward programme. As things stand, I would look likely to be paid $50 a quarter for providing articles almost daily for the Houston Chronicle and USA Today. Articles surrounded by newspaper advertising, by the way. The fact I have to provide a full feed for BlogBurst also means I'm being pirated by Bitacle, I discovered yesterday!
Here's an idea. Perhaps, while placing bloggers' material, BlogBurst could also be pro-active in protecting bloggers' copyright in the way that Scoopt claim to be.

Considering that all of BB's clients are newspapers, family friendly content is almost certainly a must. If you don't have much content that fits those guidelines, other methods of promotion and profit are probably better.

Thanks for the update on the international rewards program, I'm glad that things are moving forward there!

What can I say, usually I'm behind everyone else but on this one I was toward the front of the pack. It doesn't happen often so I have to savor it.

I really don't know how to respond to most of your comments on the system, I feel I should leave that to Eric at others at Pluck, but I wanted to offer a hint that might help with Bitacle.

First, use FeedBurner and create two different feeds for your RSS. The first is full, give that one to BlogBurst, the second is short and you post that to your site. It doesn't violate BB terms if you just give them the full feed.

I know of at least a few others that have talked about doing this.

That is an interesting idea. I'm not sure it would work with Blogger though would it? Presumably Blogger has to be set to a full feed in order for Feedburner to create its own feeds - and it is the Blogger feed that Bitacle is scraping. I'm perfectly ready to be proved wrong here, btw!
