    We are safe, the only thing we are concerned about is the safety of good friends who stayed behind and our home. The latter, however, can be replaced... Thank you for your support.

    Agreed. Though I don't want to see anyone get hit by it, I know that New Orleans doesn't need another blow right now.

    This morning both CNN and BBC advise that complete evacuation of New Orleans has been advised! I hope that everything works out for you. My prayers for the safety and well being for you and all people of New Orleans.

    Getting out early has been something of a tradition for the two of us. The mandatory evac was announced at 8 am on Sunday, we got out at 1 am Saturday, almost 36 hours before. We saw no traffic, no congestion and, despite having a dog and taking the long way, we only took about five hours to get way into the upstate.

    I keep hoping every time that people will learn my lesson but no one seems to. Every time the roads are clear. It's a bit frustrating to see the mayhem at the city right now, knowing that it easily could have been avoided...
