Update: Trackback/Comment Spam

To offer a quick update on the trackback/comment spam attack I reported on yesterday, the attack is continuing in earnest today but things seem to be much more under control now.

    Good that Defensio is doing a good job for you. Keep us posted on how it holds out. Another alternative I found is to run a script that'll set old stories with their comments/trackback closed (there are several of these around).

    Tiesto: I've done a few posts since. I had to disable Defensio due to a conflict with reCAPTCHA. Akismet seems to be doing better now.

    This is the best way I found; it stopped about 90% of my comment spam right away.
